Sheikh Zayed Book Award Participates in Sharjah International Book Fair

The Sheikh Zayed Book Award is participating in the Sharjah International Book Fair 2010 this year with the Award's Stand, as well as conducting a cultural seminar entitled "Features and Memories of the Cultural Landscape of the UAE" on Thursday, 04.11.2010. The Seminar will be held at eight in the evening at the conference room, with participation from Mr. Mohammed Al Murr, and Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi , members of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award Advisory Council. The Award's participation is yet another confirmation of the cultural status of Sharjah, which culminated last year (Award's fourth session) with His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Sharjah being on top of the list of Award winners, where he was named the Cultural Personality of the Year. Mr. Rashed Al Oraimi said that the participation of the award during the Sharjah International Book Fair embodies what it seeks to achieve through embracing cultural creativity at the local level as well as on the regional Arab level , and encourage young Emarati literary talents. He said: "No wonder Sharjah is the cultural beacon we all know because it is ruled by His Highness Sheikh Sultan. His Highness Sheikh Sultan is the instigator of the scientific and cultural renaissance movement, which he pursued for more than three decades, where he established different scientific and cultural institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah and supported the same activities in the United Arab Emirates. As a result, Sharjah's cultural events are growing in importance year after year and the Emirate contributes generously to the National Cultural Events".
